Special Characters Not Working
Here's my issue:
- Is anyone else having an issue inputting manually a password with special characters (!, ., -, _, etc)? It doesn't allow you to input them at all.
- The 'regenerate password with words' doesn't work either. I doesn't create words and it doesn't split anything with any of the special characters to choose from.
- The 'regenerate password with random characters', the symbols slider doesn't input any symbols either.
I'm guessing they're all related. It seems like a pretty big issue though.

This is dependent on the website you are creating the password for. If the website doesn’t allow special characters in passwords we make an attempt to prevent them from being included (as the website would reject them anyway). We are aware of a few sites where we have disallowed characters that the site actually does allow, and we’re working on addressing that for a future update.
Thanks.

Finally! Thanks for the response! That makes some sense now. I didn't notice that I could do it for some sites and not Aliexpress for example. The only weird thing and that I hope is addressed in the future update is that my current password for Aliexpress includes multiple underscores thus I should be able to set that as my password. Thanks for everything!

It is possible that they previously allowed that and now do not, or that our list of disallowed characters for that site is outdated. If the latter that should hopefully be addressed on our end in an update.
Thanks!

Hello Ben, I have the exact same issue, except I'm trying to input an existing password for a website and it has several special characters. The existing password works for the website and in their app, but I can't save it in 1Password. I've tried typing it in notes on my phone and then copying to 1Password, but it won't allow the paste. This is the only site that I've had this problem with.

Thanks @michaelKenning. We’re aware of the issue and I’m pushing for a quick resolution.

Really annoying defect and seems like an example of over-engineering software, software trying to be too smart. I don't think it's a good idea to try to keep track of all forms around the internet and which characters are allowed in password fields. Give warnings if you want when creating new passwords for the form filler/password generator but don't disallow characters in your own form fields.
Thanks for pushing for a quick fix, Ben.

You make some very reasonable points, @chriscage90. Thanks.
