Individual/Family Questions

Hi,

A few questions regarding membership. If you sign up for a trial on an Individual Membership through iTunes Billing, when the trial is up can you switch to a Family Membership? If no, how would that be done - does payment stay through iTunes? ? Also, if I would switch to a Family membership for a month to see if a family member likes it, but ultimately wanted to switch back to an individual membership is that possible? I had emailed support but haven’t received a response yet. Thanks.

Also, if the accounts can be converted - do the existing installations automatically converted - versuses having to transfer passwords, etc. into new installs.

  • Hi @RobDMB

I’m sorry for the delay. It is not possible to switch membership “levels” while subscribed through Apple. You’d need to cancel your subscription through them, switch, and re-establish billing directly through us. You could downgrade your membership back to an individual one but that would require deleting the family member’s 1Password account (including all stored data).

As to your 2nd post... the migration process will handle moving your data into the account. It isn’t necessary to manually transfer your data.

Thank you for the response. I would like to convert to the family trial. I had sent an email a week ago and am still waiting for a response.
