Does the iOS "Auto-fill in Safari not allowed" Restriction prevent the iOS 12 'AutoFill Passwords' capability from working?

looking at the Apple documentation here, https://developer.apple.com/enterprise/documentation/Configuration-Profile-Reference.pdf, it's not clear.

    safariAllowAutoFill
    Boolean
    Optional
When false, Safari auto-fill is disabled. Defaults to true

  • Where are you seeing this setting @skyman375?

it's an MDM restriction (enabled by an MDM profile inside Settings / General / Profiles & Device Management) that's enabled on a test device (per the DISA STIG for using a mobile phone with a DOD component). I have 1Password installed, and an not able to enable the "Autofill passwords" capability in Settings / Passwords & Accounts

  • Thanks @skyman375. This may be a question better answered by Apple, but in my testing I arrived at the same results you described. It does seem that setting turns off Password AutoFill altogether and I suspect the wording in MDM just has not yet been updated to reflect the new expanded capabilities of Password AutoFill.
