Syncing iOS12 1Password data onto MacOS Mojave current version
Apologies if this answer has been answered, but this forum has multiple answers for this issue back in 2014 and I am not sure that they are applicable for current versions.
I have an iOS version of 1Password purchased many years ago. It has continued to work well and as expected. I am currently on iOS12, have the latest version and am syncing to Dropbox. However, I would like to have the same access on my laptop if there was ever an issue with my iPhone. I installed the 7.2.1 Mac version and it is asking for an .opvault file. In my dropbox, I only have an agilekeychain file extension. I have read multiple articles, but I don't see anything which helps a current iOS / Dropbox user convert to the new format so that it is usable on my Mac as well.
I know that much of this could be solved by subscription to 1password.com and it is likely in the future, but for the time being, I am just trying to get my current 1password configuration available on 2 forms of devices so to avoid single point of failure.
Now that I think about it, I am even more concerned that I wouldn't be able to restore from the agilekeychain if there was an issue with my current phone.
Again, apologies if this is a repetitious post, but I need help. Love the product. Thanks.

I’d be happy to help with that. 1Password 7 won’t allow an Agile Keychain to be used — it’ll automatically migrate the Agile Keychain to an OPVault. You’d then need to disable syncing on the iPhone and re-enable it, selecting the OPVault file as the sync source.
If you’re still debating about a subscription vs continuing with a standalone license I’d recommend trying the membership. I’d hate to see you spend the money on a license now and then in 3 months decide to move to a membership. As they say — there is no time like the present. :)

That is the specific thing that I am looking to understand. How do i disable syncing and re-enable it? Looking for which specific apps need to be done to do that.
I hear you on the membership, but for the time being, I don't think that I am going to have to buy a new license unless I am missing something in the next setup steps in the MacOS version.
Thanks for the help and look forward to your response.

To disable syncing:
- iOS: Open and unlock 1Password, then tap Settings > Sync > Sync Service > Disable Sync.
- Mac: Open and unlock 1Password, then choose 1Password > Preferences. Click Sync, select your Primary vault, and set “Sync Primary vault with” to None.
To re-enable it see this guide:
It is possible you already have a 1Password 7 for Mac license but unless you’ve purchased one 1Password 7 for Mac does require a separate purchase from any previous version.

Thanks for the instructions on disabling and re-enabling. I will check them out tonight.
From the app store, it doesn't seem very clear how I would get my hands on a 1password for Mac license. Is that something that I would have to get from your website or is there an appstore link that you could provide?
Thanks for all of the support. It is very appreciated.

You’re very welcome. Licenses cannot be used with 1Password from the App Store. If you’re using 1Password 7 from the App Store then you’re using a 1Password membership (which may be on the 30 day trial period). Licenses are only sold in the 1Password 7 app downloaded from our website.

iMac and Macbook both running OS 1.14 Mojave. iMac preferences has a sync option, Macbook does not.
iPhone an iPad both running iOS 12.0.1. Under settings there is a sync option for the iPad (which has successfully synced with the iMac) but no sync option under settings for the iPhone X. So my Macbook and iPhone do not sync.0 -
@Kruu: it sounds like you've setup 1Password on the iPhone X with a 1Password.com membership subscription account. In that case, there are no sync settings; that's all built in. You'd need to either setup the app with the same vault in Dropbox you are using on your other devices, or set them all up to use the 1Password.com account.

Should I delete 1Password from the phone and Macbook and start over with 1Password 7 (again) on both?

Both IOS devices say "trial mode" and the iMac and Macbook both have the secret key for my.1password. The iMac has the data that I would like to see on the macbook and iPhone.

@Kruu: You'll be on the free trial for the first 30 days with your 1Password.com account. After that, you'll need to setup a subscription for your membership. We definitely don't want you to delete your data. Do you have all of your 1Password data in your account? You can verify this by signing into the website in your browser. Let me know.

The iPhone, the laptop, and the 1Password website all show 61 items. The iMac and iPad show 199 items. I want all devices to have the same 199 items.

@Kruu: Are the "199 items" in your 1Password.com account? Did you sign into the website and look, like I suggested?

My 1password.com account (https://my.1password.com/home) shows 61 items. I'm happy to delete all those. What I want to keep are the 199 items on my iMac -- not currently synced with the 1Password website.

After some exploration I discovered I have a Personal vault on each of the four devices. That vault apparently syncs with the 1Password website and contains 61 items on each of the four devices. Additionally, I found that the iPad and iMac have a 'Primary' vault. When I looked in Settings I discovered 'All Vaults' was selected and totaled both vaults to get to 199.
The Primary vault syncs on iCloud. I have no idea how these two devices are different from the other two, but they are. The larger number of items synced on iCloud in the Primary vault are the most up to date.
Is there a way to get the iPhone and Macbook to link to the Primary vault used by the iMac and iPad? If I could do that, all four devices would have the information I need.0 -
@Kruu: That's very helpful! Thank you! Indeed, the Primary vault is stored locally on the device, not part of any 1Password.com account. If you're certain that all of the data you do want is in the Primary vault, and that you don't want the stuff currently in your account, please do the following:
- Sign into your account in the app if you haven't already
- Delete the items in your Personal vault — this is easiest to do in the app
- Go to Help > Tools > Migrate Primary/Standalone Vault(s) to Account
- Go to Vault > Switch to Vault > Primary
- Go to Vault > Delete Vault
- Setup all of your other devices with your 1Password.com account
That should do the trick. Let me know how it goes. :)

Steps 1 and 2 complete. Stuck on step 3 since 'Migrate primary vault to account is grayed out'. Option 4 is not grayed out, but I didn't want to take that step without having done step 3.

Done! I'm up and running on all four devices.
Thanks for all your help.0 -
