1Password X 1.11.0 and browser saved passwords

1Password X 1.11.0 introduces a change where it overrides the browser option of saving passwords. I would like to have the option to save in both (as it was prior to this change).

As it stands now, I must either allow 1Password X to manage passwords entirely or disable the extension altogether. I'm sure you can understand why this isn't ideal.

Are there plans to change this all-or-nothing approach to using 1Password X?

  • Thanks for reaching out and giving us a chance to talk with you, @jhight. 👋

You're right, 1Password X can now make itself the default password manager. If you try to change this directly in Chrome's settings, our extension is disabled entirely. Thankfully, there is another way: you can toggle the Make 1Password the default password manager option in our Settings. To open our settings, right-click on the toolbar icon and select Settings.

I hope that helps. Please let me know. 🙂
