1Password 7 vs 6 - worse behavior with all-keyboard navigation

I use 1P mostly with the keyboard.

With 1P 6 this was my typical sequence of keys to get to a password for some entry:
1. Press "Option‑Command‑Backslash" to see the 1P mini
2. Type a part of the entry I'm looking for - the list gets filled with possible hits, the first entry is active
3. Press "Right" arrow, the "password" field is focused
4. Press Enter, password is copied

On the same data with 1P 7, in step 3, when I press "Right", the "username" field is focused. That means, I need to remember to press an extra arrow down to get to the password.

I believe in most cases people go to 1P to get the password, looking up a user name is less frequent. So with 1P 7 this is less efficient. Even if you don't agree, I think it would be great to at least have an option which field to focus by default.

Oh, I know I can use different keyboard shortcuts to copy different things, but these are actually slower than just doing "Right-Enter" IMO. And harder to remember.

Thank you!

  • Thanks for the feedback, @marcinz. We are looking at some improvements for 1Password mini, so perhaps this is something we can look at while doing that.
