I don't want to update my iphone to iOS 12 yet. Does this mean that I cannot use 1Password?

I'm a new user and just set up a family subscription. However, when I went to add the app to my phone, I can't do so because my older iPhone is not running OS12. Did I make a mistake by signing up for a subscription?

    1Password for iOS requires iOS 12. You may want to reconsider upgrading. Thanks.
