What OS is your new computer? Are you attempting to use 1PW7?

1PW7 can be used either with a subscription or a licence. However, as a major upgrade, 1PW7 requires a new licence if you are going with a licence.

You may be able to stay with 1PW6 if that's what you want, and use your old licence. I wouldn't recommend it, though, as there won't be any updates and a new OS might make it unusable.

It is worth looking at the subscription, see https://support.1password.com/why-account/ . Some people prefer to stick with a licence, but for most people the sub is a better choice.

Welcome to the forum, @Ketchbe! @danco is quite correct; a license from 2013 would have been for either 1Password 3 for Mac or 1Password 4 for Mac, and in either case, would not work to license the all-new 1Password 7 for Mac.

For most users, a 1password.com membership is the best way to use 1Password these days; we invite you to check it out free for 30 days. If you're interested, head over to the main 1Password sign-up page and create your account. If you're planning to stick with a standalone license upgrade, you can do that too, right within 1Password 7 for Mac itself. Just click the Read Only banner on any of your items in the main 1Password window, and you'll get the choice to either subscribe or to purchase a license. Hope that helps! :)
