can't merge vaults

hi guys,

so - i watched the video for how to merge your old vault with the new vault (after you create an account) but the popup never showed, and i cant find any buttons to merge accounts. what should i do?

    Just to make sure we're on the same page: You're using 1Password for iOS and you're migrating from a standalone setup to a 1Password membership... is that correct?

    yes that is correct, i now have two pretty full (different) vaults. didnt even realize that the ios version wasn't the same vault as my pc and its been a few months now

  • Thanks @chud575. Unfortunately in that case there is no way to "merge" this data. You would have a few options. You could:

    • choose one of the datasets and discard the other
    • copy one of the datasets into the other, which will cause duplicates, but you wouldn't lose any data
    • manually review the two datasets and copy only items that are not present or have changed from one to the other

    Please let me know which option you choose and if you need assistance moving forward with that. At the end of the day the goal would be to end up with your data stored on 1Password.com and all standalone vaults (including the "Primary" vault) being deleted from each device. Having the "Primary" vault remain will continue to cause issues like this and others.

    I imported the opvault into my desktop version and just enabled both and copied over entries that were missing from the other

  • Glad to hear that worked out. Now that you’ve done that I’d recommend removing the Primary vault from each device to avoid difficulties in the future.
