iOS PIN engaged, lost TouchID, can’t turn PIN off and re-engage TouchID

I think I was playing with the new PIN setting in Settings>Advanced>Security, turns PIN on, tried it out - all ok.

But I want to go back to TouchID and turn PIN off. There is no longer TouchID option in Settings>Security, PINCode.

If I go back to Settings>Advanced>Security, it only shows Require Master Password - no setting for enable/disabling PIN, as there was to initially enable it.

I’ve tried deleting all 1Password data (from Advanced menu), uninstalling and installing the app - no luck PIN compels back every time.

  • Hi @mylife98

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. Please try this:

    • Open the Settings app
    • Navigate to Touch ID & Passcode
    • Enter your iOS Passcode if requested
    • Turn OFF [Device] Unlock (where "Device" is iPhone or iPad)
    • Restart the device: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201559
    • Open the Settings app
    • Navigate to Touch ID & Passcode
    • Enter your iOS Passcode if requested
    • Turn ON [Device] Unlock
    • Launch & unlock 1Password
    • Check Settings > Security and see if you now have the option to enable Touch ID

Please let us know how it turns out.
