Mac app not letting me in-- only will accept owner's password
I set up my own account under a family account. I logged in/set it up successfully, but when I downloaded the macOS application, it takes me to a login screen that only lets me put in a password, and it won't take my password. It's only letting me in when I type the OWNER'S password (which I happen to know). When I log in with that, I can see all of the owner's private passwords. How do I set this up correctly so I can log in to the app with my credentials? It doesn't let me type in my username/email (it doesn't allow for that option, only a password). Thank you!

Hi there @passwordquestion
Quick clarificationL Do you and the owner use the same device or different devices?

Different devices

Okay, then, assuming you have your Emergency Kit on hand or otherwise have your account information available, open 1Password and click Help>Troubleshooting>Reset all 1Password data. Follow the instructions there and 1Password will close.
When it reopens, pick 1Password.com from the options and, if prompted to add the owner's account, click "Sign in with a different account" at the bottom. Then you can enter in your Secret Key, Master Password and other login information and it should connect you to your account.

Will resetting all 1password data erase anything on the owner's account? Will his master password, and logins saved in his account, remain in tact?

@passwordquestion The reset function is a local reset of your device only. It won't touch anything on the server.

Great, that seems to have worked! Thank you!

Actually, I'm not sure if it did. When I'm logged in on the app, I can't seem to be able to add passwords. Where is the "+" icon?
