I am getting this error message when I start 1Password:
Database Backup Failed
The 1Password Database could not be backed up.
Database exists but is invalid. One or more keys files
may be missing.

1Password 4 version 4.4.1 (441008)
Agile Web Store

This just started a couple of days ago. How can I fix this problem?

    Hi @steve13,

    Please try this:

    • Open 1Password.
    • Click the 1Password menu, hold down the Control key, and select Quit 1Password and 1Password mini.
    • Restart the Mac.
    • Relaunch 1Password.

This should get things backing up properly for you. :)

After trying this several times, the error message went away.

  • Hi @Steve13,

Just to double check that it is in fact working, please open the main 1Password app, and go to the File Menu > Backup.., make sure a new backup did show up.

    Thanks!

A new backup does appear when I go to Backup.

  • Hi @steve13,

I think I know what the problem is, it might be related to a date format bug. To confirm this, can you email your diagnostic report to support+forum@agilebits.com with a link to this thread.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the update @steve13! Sorry for the delay. We've been swamped with requests since the release of iOS 8. We appreciate your patience.
