Can I sync over a Shared drive on my server?

    @Mook_David: You can use other software to sync the data between computers and a shared drive, but only if a copy is kept locally. 1Password needs to be able to read and write to the vault, after all. This is essentially what Dropbox does for you, but some users have had success with other solutions, provided that they keep a local copy and manage conflicts between clients well. I hope this helps! :)

  • Just to be clear, what we mean by a local copy is that we do not recommend running your 1Password data folder on a network share that can disconnect any time since we may be reading/writing a lot of times.

    What we recommend is that you use a tool to sync the 1Password folder in your Documents directory to your network share instead and run 1Password from that Documents > 1Password folder.
