Looking for the 1Password helper

The 1Password helper must be running for the extension to work properly.

Either the helper is not running, or something is preventing it from communicating with the 1Password browser extension.

@jarmorin: It sounds like you might be trying to use the 1Password Chrome extension without having the 1Password for Windows desktop app installed. Make sure you download it from the AgileBits website, and let me know if you have any other questions! :)

    1Password Beta 2016.6.403u

@tl_vungle: Sorry for the confusion! The beta of 1Password (UWP app) from the Windows Store cannot connect with the browser extensions. It's something we plan to add in the future though. Is there a specific reason you're using the beta?

@brenty: there was no option for me to download the non-beta version. Here's the current flow...

    • Logged into 1Password account via browser
    • Dropdown > Get Apps
    • Get 1Password for Windows > Browser tab launches and automatically opens up the Windows Store
    • And the Store shows us what is available in the attached image

Do I need to download the 1Password app from another source? Or is the 1Password App even available for Windows 10 (x64)?

    Hi @tl_vungle,

Brenty wanted to make sure you're using 1Password Families or Teams and not as a standalone product. If you were not using 1Password Families/Teams, then you should be using the stable 1Password 4 for Windows.

Since you are, we recommend trying 1Password 6 Beta for Windows that do support basic filling support right now: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/64591/help-us-welcome-1password-6-to-our-windows-family#latest

We do plan to update the version in the Windows 10 Store with extension support but we don't have a timeframe on that yet.
