Safari Extension disappeared (and I can't re-add it)

Options

I had the extension working but one day noticed it was gone from the toolbar. I downloaded it again from the Mac App Store, and when I open it, it tells me to open Safari Preferences and enable it, but it isn't there to enable.

I finally gave up trying and tried to remove the beta and start over, but I simply cannot quit 1Password. Using control-option doesn't give me "quit 1Password completely", and when I quit anyway and try to delete the app it says it's still open and won't let me proceed.

What should my next step be?

I just realized it would probably be a good community service if I posted the solution that Dave W from support gave me):

    • Close all open web browsers.
    • Open Terminal on your Mac: Open or quit Terminal on Mac - Apple Support (CA)
    • Paste the following into Terminal and then press enter: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -f -R /Applications/Safari.app
    • Open Safari and try to enable 1Password for Safari again.

    It worked a champ.
