Thank you Paul for your excellent response.

I was really glad that in fact it wasn't just that I'd failed to notice some checkbox or other, that is normally why things aren't working on my computer ☺

In fact I have reviewed this the way I do things now and I have removed all passwords from FireFox and put them in 1Password so I am now using only one password manager as it makes sense.

So, I'm going to leave things as they are so that 1Password is the default password manager for FireFox.
