1Password 8: Tags View Always Shows Items From All Vaults
I just upgraded to 1Password 8 less than 15 minutes ago and I'm already regretting it. Why does the Tags view now show every item from every vault? Previously, it would just show items from the vau...

3 years agoSeriously, collections are not an answer when you have hundreds of vaults for hundreds of clients.. the list would be stupid long as it is for the vault list.. then do this for each vault.. what planet of dumb are you're designers from? Version 8 has been a disaster.. I 'WAS' trying to convince my company to start using 1password.. but after looking at this they are looking elsewhere..
TAGs dynamically showing based on the vault you have selected is the ONLY way to go.. I would add that we should be able to add default tags for vaults (for business accounts at least) ; maybe even the ability to LOCK tags for shared vaults so they don't get out of hand and only those with manage permissions can change what tags are available for a given vault.
NOT that you guys are in for anything logical.. I mean.. this thing has become a mess.. PLEASE recover my opinion/confidence in your product.. otherwise even my family is moving to another solution, much less loosing a chance at a large 29k employee business client. heh.
Our current solution for our company is LastPass with one Shared 'Folder' per client and each of those is organized by sub-folders/categories..
Being able to focus on a per 'vault' or folder or whatever is ESSENTIAL .. and shouldn't require yet another layer/list of collections ON TOP of the already long vault list.. It's like you guys asked 'How can I make this more layered and complicated for large deployments?' ..
If collections worked WITHIN a vault so I could create Network, Switches, Servers, Cloud 'collections' under each vault (client).. then sure.. but hell man, thats a TAG..
It comes down to this.. collections may have their place, but it's not well implemented or thought out.. when we should be able to just click a check box to "Show TAGS only for selected vault." enabled.
