Feature Request: 1Password on Flathub
Since the recent https://1password.community/discussion/comment/615214/#Comment_615214 would be, time to publish 1Password on https://flathub.org/home.
Flathub is the best known Flatpak package store, so it would be a good idea to public 1Password on it, and it is easier to find Flatpak apps directly from it, since users expect most Flatpak apps to be there.
Here is the guide on how to publish on Flathub: https://github.com/flathub/flathub/wiki/App-Submission

Hello folks,
As some of you have already noticed, 1Password is now available on Flathub! 🎉
We’re still putting the finishing touches on a full announcement (including updates to our support guides), which we’ll share soon. In the meantime, you can go ahead and use the new listing. If you run into any issues, let us know, we’re always happy to help.

Nice!
Well.. it does say "unverified". I am inclined to believe 1Password is the owner of the account, but I wouldn't install it until the account is verified either on here or the Flathub badge changes to Verified.- AJCxZ0Silver Expert
This is the sensible way to treat applications hosted on Flathub, but infinitely moreso for the 1Password client.
Two of the three contributers are well-known for their contributions to all Flatpaks, leaving only Mitchell Cohen to be identified and their allegiances and affiliations to be determined. He may have been the 1Password Client Apps Product Lead (and a smart cookie) back in 2021, and Principal Product Manager, Auth Experience in 2025.
This does not mean that the Flatpak is legitimate. Mitch may have gone rogue, been replaced by a GPT bot, or working on a secret project to see how many users* give away all their secrets by installing critical software from untrusted sources.

Hello folks,
Thank you for all of your requests and for continuing to share your feedback, we truly appreciate it. Although 1Password isn't currently available on Flathub, and I don't have any news to share about plans to publish there, you can install the Flatpak version of 1Password by following this guide:
Get the 1Password for Linux app – Flatpak
My colleagues and I will continue to make sure your interest in seeing 1Password published to Flathub is heard by our product team. If anything changes regarding the available installation options for 1Password on Linux, we’ll be sure to update this thread.

Dave, "install 1Password from this alternate flatpak repo" is not a solution to "please put 1Password on Flathub, like literally every other password manager". Could you please unmark it as such?
What is especially grating is that you guys have taken the effort to put 1Password on Snapcraft, which is only really used by a singular distro, Ubuntu.
- RHEL is (loosely) based on Fedora
- gLinux (Google's distro) is based on Debian Testing
- SteamOS is based on Arch
- SUSE is its own thing
None of these use Snap as their containerized software distribution, all of them use and Flatpak and aside from gLinux all of them use Flathub.
Apologies for the slightly abrasive response, but it has been almost half a decade now, being continually ignored by the team is getting rather annoying.- 1P_Dave

Marking a post as a solution is not the same as closing an issue or request. It simply points readers to the most up-to-date answer so that they don't have to scroll through the entire thread.
My colleagues and I will keep advocating for your interest in seeing 1Password published to Flathub with our product team. I'm sorry that I don't have anything more to share at the moment.

Guys, seriously. Am I underestimating how much effort this is to do?
BitWarden, KeePass, Password Safe are all up there. 4 years?
- boekeleleNew Contributor
Has there been any internal progress on this? It's been 4 years since the initial request.
Flathub is still/even more popular and larger than the Snap store. Since you are on the Snap store, it makes no sense not to be on Flathub.
Especially since most of the groundwork (setting up the packaging infra for a 1Password Flatpak) has already been done for 1Password its private Flatpak repo. - AJCxZ0Silver Expert
Another two years passed and still no verified Flatpak hosted on Flathub which will work for everyone with a Linux platform desktop, but still a collection of platform-specific packages and repos requiring more resources and effort from both 1Password and us.
Rather than passing along feedback to @1P_DaveNull, please tell us what is needed to achieve this so that we can help make it happen.

+1 for an official 1PW Flatpak

I don't understand why 1Password pours effort in maintaining the Snap Store 1Password package (only relevant to Ubuntu users, and even then a large subset of them uses Flatpaks via Flathub instead) instead of publishing primarily on Flathub (the package store with the most momentum behind it, not to mention the one relevant to all other Linux distros).

Hey @mstanke, I apologize for the delayed response. We don't have any updates regarding 1Password on Flatpak at this time. I'll be sure to reach out as soon as we have any news to share.
