1PW8 - Master password entry

From the browser extension it used to have the password entry field in that small form. Now instead it has a button to open 1Password where it then has a field to enter the master password. Why isn...

What you're seeing here is our Shared Lock State functionality. 1Password in the browser and the 1Password desktop app can communicate, and whenever the desktop app is unlocked, so is 1Password in the browser. This allows for the use of Windows Hello to unlock 1Password in the browser, as well as not locking when you close and reopen your browser. If you'd rather unlock 1Password in the browser and 1Password for Windows separately, follow these steps:

  1. Right click the 1Password extension icon in the top right corner of your browser and select "Settings".
  2. Turn off the "Integrate with 1Password app" option there.
  3. Confirm that 1Password in your browser now shows a password field
