I'm testing 1Password with the potential to move from another Manager. I have completed an import but the tags did not import in a helpful way since I see no way to expand the panes on...

Firstly, I just want to let you know that we wouldn't want a technical snag to take up your trial period. I'll be happy to connect you with our concierge team to see what we can do for you on that front.
We recognize that the ability to edit tags from 1Password 8 will be useful. As @denalb mentioned, 1Password 8 is a completely new app, built from the ground up, so there were a few things that didn't make the initial release (but which we're working on). You can expect that 1Password 8 (which already contains a number of features not present in version 7) will continue to get more robust and feature-rich as we go.
I'd agree that normally the easiest way to handle this is to use 1Password 7 to edit the tags. However, you also asked:
how do I mass delete the items that were imported so I can reimport them after editing the .CSV file?
If I understand correctly, it sounds from your first post like you may be able to fix the issue by editing that .CSV file - that's great. With that established, our Windows specialist team (of which I'm a member) can help you reset your existing 1Password data so that you can import the fresh dataset.
