Sorry to hear you're having trouble setting up two-factor authentication for an account. Would you mind telling me for what website you're trying to set up two-factor authentication? Once I know, I can give it a try myself and let you know what I find out.
Typically, there would be a QR code on the website which can be scanned to add the secret to the item in 1Password. Sometimes, you'll see it written out as (usually) 16 characters. If so, you can copy and paste those into the item's one-time password field, like this:
(note: This one-time password secret is shown for example purposes only.)
If you can't see a "one-time password" field, you can click "+ add more", then "One-Time Password".
