Increasing the minimum iOS version to iOS 18

I just received an email about updating iOS devices to ones with iOS 18 or later. My old iPad topped out at iPadOS 17.7.10. It's an iPad 6. I use it primary to read or play music. How will the January release of 1Password for iOS affect me? I guess I should go ahead and buy a new one. I've just been putting it off.

  • Hello folks,

With our late-January release of 1Password for iOS, the minimum supported iOS version will increase to iOS 18. This change enables us to continue delivering the latest security enhancements and to take full advantage of new platform features available on iOS.

To ensure uninterrupted access to future 1Password updates, we recommend updating any affected devices to iOS 18 or later ahead of this release. Devices that do not meet the new minimum version by the deprecation date will continue to run 1Password for iOS, but will no longer receive app updates until the device is upgraded to a supported iOS version.

      Hello 1P_Dave,

Thanks for your answer, Dave. So I went ahead and bought a new iPad! I was long overdue anyway. That solved the problem for me. Have a wonderful holiday season, and many thanks for doing what you do. Great work!

So, I have an iPad Pro 10.5”, circa 2017 which is restricted to the same OS ver … 17.7.10.  And if I want to continue running 1Password on it, I have to spend about $1,500 to get a new iPad?  I think not! I have been using 1Password for over a decade now. Running the current version on my iPad, Pixel 6a and Dell XPS 8960 with Win11 Pro. Something is wrong with that email from 1Password concerning the iPad needing OS 18. What am I missing?
