"Open and Fill" goes too quickly for me to make use of a passkey sign in

I have a site for which I can use the passkey to log in i.e.

BUT if I instead first go to 1P and use "Open and Fill" I never get the chance to sign in using the passkey as 1P immediately fills in the email and password and jumps right to the next screen (where I am asked for a 2FA). (I can get the screen above so as to use "Log in with a passkey" only if I dont use 1P to get to a log in screen). (Chrome, Windows 11 machine).  Is there a way for me to use 1P to get the screen above to freeze so I can select "Log in with a passkey"?

  • Under settings I toggled off the "Sign in automatically after filling" option.

That stops it from jumping past the login screen so one can select the passkey sign in option.

If I deselect, "Sign in automatically after autofill" then I am able to choose the passkey key option.

  • Hi jmjm,

To confirm, if you select "Log in with a passkey" does it take you to a different page? If so, could you try editing your Login item for the website to have the URL direct you to the passkey sign in page?

Otherwise, if you're accessing the Login item through the 1Password app I'd recommend clicking the down arrow next to the website field and selecting Open. This will open the URL in your browser without filling in any information so that you can manually click the "Log in with a passkey" option.

      No it doesn't

I need your further clarification Trevor_1P  as I don't see an only "Open" choice, but rather hovering brings up "Open and fill" and clicking the down arrow results in "Copy" and "Show in large type". (Maybe I need to turn off, "Sign in automatically after autofill"?)

(It just bugs me that every other site which I have established a passkey, allows me to use the passkey even when clicking on "Open and Fill" (even when I have "Sign in automatically after autofill" selected)).
