passkey on gmail app on samsung galaxy s21 on latest (android 15) and adding a second gmail user
opening a gmail session in a browser and getting prompted for a passkey worked fine.
I am trying to add a second gmail account to the gmail app. When I try this, 1password is not displaying all of the users in the bar, but it does let me open 1password. I can select the account name there. then it prompts for a passkey, but it only looks in google. when I say try another way, it does not suggest 1password, it just displays a QR code and says to take a picture with another device. The first gmail user is already present from the initial phone setup (and I did not have a passkey on it at that time. So I assume that this is a samsung or more likely a google app issue, and not 1password. Has anyone else successfully added a second gmail user to the gmail app on android (with a passkey)?

oh crap. no way to edit one of these posts??? GALAXY S25. Not S21. The S21 lost it's water resistance a few months ago without telling me and it got splashed with water and died in my arms.

Click the cog (⛭) in the top right - where no-one would look - for the drop-down menu. You should see Edit, though that option disappears after a while.

also, android preferred passkey service is 1password. the google popup is simply "no passkeys available" and offers "choose a different device". Looping through to "try other ways" never suggests 1password and it eventually asks me for a recovery key to log into the account.
