Please add support for the Orion browser. It needs explicit signature verification from 1Password to work. Otherwise, it should work out of the box.

@ag_yaron I'd like to throw my support in, but also add: I'm one of the most vocal supporters of 1Password, and not only that, but I'm a champion of 1Password for Business at my company. The 1Password Chromium extension doesn't support autofill, in my experience, on Orion. However, the desktop "classic" extension could "just work" if only 1Password provided support for it, or allowed users who are competent to bypass the signing check.
It's frustrating to be an ardent supporter of 1Password, and also to be told that because it's a niche browser, it can't be done. All that does is continue the existing browser monopoly: either you're Firefox, Chrome, or Safari, or you're a Sufficiently Big Company that you can launch a Chromium derived browser and get support because you can cheat (Edge). Any actual upcoming competitor browsers get stymied by default. How is a browser supposed to be non-niche when a popular password manager is refusing to support it, out of philosophical grounds?
How do I vote with my wallet here? Is $99 a month enough to compensate the developer who has to update the signing checks for the 1Password desktop extension? Can browser manufacturers pay this fee? Surely there's a good solution here.

Sometimes it's hard to believe there's a new browser to "rule em all". But this what is happening with Orion right now, the lightweight Safari became even lighter. Just try it for one day in your daily routine and check Activity Monitor to see its magic inside.
It's like it's never going to pass above 20% of cpu (depends on your hardware too though).. but while Safari has 100-150% with simple tasks, the same on Orion is only 10%.. and it's still on 0.99 alpha release.1Password is one of the apps we "call" many times per day. With Orion I am back on using the mouse in my Mac :) Cause I need to have a shortcut like cmd \ that opens the 1password (mini) window and I search and drag n drop the credentials on my Orion browser for any site. I keep the ones that I want (and use) daily in Orion keychain BUT this is not why I am paying 1Password for.
I know it's not a browser that everyone knows. I know it's hard to develop that small detail into the old extension and make it compatible, but saving my passwords outside of 1Password, it's just doesn't feel right.
Maybe someone can push an alpha version for the "many" of us (https://daringfireball.net/2021/10/the_tragedy_of_safari_15_quote_unquote_tabs), that don't like the new Safari, and hate chrome and the Firefox memory hungry browsers?
I am using these ones for now:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/1password-–-password-mana/aeblfdkhhhdcdjpifhhbdiojplfjncoaand I've tried beta as well, what is this for anyway?

Hey guys,
Some of our devs (and security team) are looking into this. Thank you for the additional details and feedback.

+1 to Duncan. 1Password keeps nagging me to reactivate my subscription. I will do so immediately once the support for Orion is there.

Hey all. I have noticed today that some form of 1Password support landed on Orion RC. I was able to install the extension from the Chrome web store, and have it autofill.
However, it does not yet sync up with the desktop app for me, so I assume some switch needs to be flipped by 1Password server side or through a software update. Maybe there is a 1Password for Orion native extension in the works?
Thanks to the 1P team for keeping up with this issue as of late.

Hey jmanes !
Did you switch to the beta or the nightly release?
When will the trusted browser setting be available?
We will be introducing the new setting shortly in the nightly channel of the 1Password desktop app.Source: https://1password.community/discussion/140735/extending-support-for-trusted-web-browsers

I swapped back to the beta channel today. Since I know support is on the way I can rest easy and be patient for it to hit the beta channel.

1Password still isn't working as expected with Orion RC (Version 0.99.124.4.4-rc). I now have the nightly build (1Password for Mac 8.10.9 (81009030) that lets me add Orion RC as a trusted browser, which I've done. And I've tried both the latest nightly build 1Password extension (Chrome) and the normal 1Password extension (Chrome) with the same results.
When I use CMD-\, I get the "search 1Password box" but it doesn't recognize the website I'm on. When I type in the box and hit ENTER, I get a message that 1Password can't verify that Orion RC should have access to my "[name of website]" item. Do you want to fill it anyway message? Choosing Fill Once works, but that did so before I made Orion RC a trusted browser.
The extension does show the drop down in most user name / password entry fields (though not the one to log into this forum!). But it is hit or miss whether both the user name and password fields fills (e.g., on washingtonpost.com, user name fills, but password doesn't).

Thanks for the info (I'd thought from the name "Trusted Browser" and the fact that CMD-\ works just fine with regular Orion that adding Orion RC as a trusted browser would put it on par with regular Orion and get rid of the "can't verify" popup).
I did check using the extension on Chrome with the Washington Post website and with another one (PacerPro) that didn't work right with Orion RC -- both work as expected with the extension in Chrome: I choose my login from the drop down, it fills in the user name then autofills the password field without further input from me.

Great to see support for Orion in 1PW. I tried it and it worked (although sometimes the addon still blanks out and refuses to load).
However, Passkeys seem to be completely non functional. When signing in to a website with a saved passkey inside 1PW, Orion just shows the „insert USB passkey device“ prompt and ignores the saved one inside 1PW. This works fine in chrome.
Is this something that’s actively being worked on?
