Fydon I'm sorry that you're running into issues with Google passkeys on your Windows PC. Can you confirm that you're using the latest version of 1Password in the browser: Download 1Password in the browser If you are already using the latest version then can you tell me which browser you're using? Can you also check to make sure that the following option is turned on: Open your browser. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar. Click Settings. Click AutoFill. Make sure that "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" is turned on. I look forward to hearing from you. -Dave

Fydon Thanks for the reply. Do you have both 1Password and Bitwarden turned on in Edge? If you do then can you temporarily disable the Bitwarden extension and then try to save a passkey for your Google account again: Add, turn off, or remove extensions in Microsoft Edge - Microsoft Support Let me know if that works. -Dave

Fydon I'm happy that you were able to resolve the issue. Certain passkeys created during the early beta period may indeed not work correctly due to an issue with how they were saved using that early beta version. Deleting the old passkey and creating a new passkey, as you did, will resolve the issue and allow you to sign in successfully going forward. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, thank you again for helping us to test passkeys during the beta period. Since this is an old thread, I'm going to close it to save the original poster from receiving notifications for every reply. If anyone else is running into an issue with saving and signing in to their Google account using a passkey then please create a new thread and my colleagues and I will be there to help. 🙂 -Dave

After installing the browser extension in Chrome, I was able to create and store a Passkey in 1Password. However whenever I try to use this Passkey, e.g. to sign in to google.com or when trying to perform sensitive tasks like managing my account, where you get prompted for a Passkey confirmation, I can't use the Passkey stored in 1P. Chrome wants me to insert my security key and as I cancel that immediately offers to scan a QR code. It seems like my existing Passkeys take precedence and 1Password is not even considered. Am I missing something? Layer8 problem? Hey Manaburner, I hope you've been enjoying saving and signing in with passkeys in 1Password in the open Beta! As for this issue you're seeing with passkeys in Chrome on Windows; It looks like Chrome is invoking it's own passkey/security key prompts before 1Password has a chance to pull up your saved passkey. These steps below should help improve that experience you're seeing and I'd like to ask you to give them a try for me: In Chrome > Settings, “Offer to save passwords” should be disabled. 1Password for Chrome should be controlling this setting in your browser. Copy and paste chrome://flags/#enable-debug-for-secure-payment-confirmation into the address bar and press Enter/Return. Disable this setting and restart the browser. After doing the above, could you then try signing in to your Google account again to see if 1Password is now offering to sign in using your passkey? :)

I just noticed that even 1password's own demo does not pick up the passkey to login to the existing account I created when in incognito or using Edge when I used 1password beta in Brave to create the passkey.

The promise of multi-device syncing of passkeys seems to not be working in general on this initial rollout.

1p_jac I'm having the same problem folks here are having (as well as the problem with multiple google accounts as noted in the thread "Multiple Google Accounts and Passkeys") with google logins. I'm on Windows 10 Pro, and I do have a period in some of the google account names, but not others; it doesn't seem to matter whether I'm trying to log in to an account with a period in the address or not, though.

I tried Edge Canary on Windows 11 and it still didn't prompt for 1Password's passkey first. However I am able to use a passkey on Ebay.

In spite of Microsoft and PayPal (they have even removed the related documentation) been listed as supporting passkey, neither do.

Hi to all
direct to subject, recently i add passkey to my google and and extension work smoothly.
after that i sign out then when i come back to login but email fill out automatically and go to password and 2FA ?
is that normal ??? I think idea to passkey concept is to go passwordless is this related to google or 1password

Same problem here: passkey successfully saved in 1Password, but not offered as an option to sign in.
I'm using a custom domain (Google workspace), no period in email address

Latest 1Password beta extension installed for Chrome

"Offered to safe passwords disabled" in Chrome

Extension is allowed in incognito mode

"Skip passwords were possible" enabled in Google Account

The passkey is also not available as an option for 2-factor authentication (my Yubikey is offered by default, but when I click "Try in another way" all other options appear (Google Authenticator, clicking Yes on phone or tablet, receive code via SMS, ...) but no passkey option.

I doubt there is anything wrong with 1Password - that seems to be all on Googles implementation. For me the passkey works in Google but not as login, Google uses it instead of asking for OTP 2factor number code. Before it asked for that OTP now it uses the passkey after enter User+PW

I have some useful extra information. I had my 1password locked and tried to log into google. 1pw tried to initiate but asked me to unlock it. When I then unlocked it - it was the same problem. So 1pw is being triggered in some way - just not fully. Hoping for this to be fixed soon :)
