1Password desktop app crashing on Windows 8.1

I have just reinstalled windows 8.1 on my laptop & downloaded the 1password app. It installed correctly, but has failed to launch. I'm just getting the error message "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program". I installed the chrome plugin as well & am now getting this message on every website I visit as well. Is there a different version I should install or does it just not work with Windows 8.1?

Thanks for writing in.

If you just reinstalled Windows 8.1, it likely didn't have the latest Microsoft's .NET 4.6.1 framework installed which 1Password needs.

Try this:

1. Uninstall 1Password via Control Panel
2. Install latest .NET framework from here: https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/thank-you/net472
3. Reboot, check Windows updates for any additional .NET updates
4. Install 1Password once more from here: https://1Password.com/downloads/
