How long are "previously used passwords" stored?
The "Show previously used passwords" feature on 1Password for Windows.
It's unclear from your guides if this previously used passwords feature has the same lifespan as item history (1 year) or if it is saved indefinitely.
Also curious why we aren't given any control over that information. It could contain information we don't want in our password manager anymore, but there doesn't seem to be a way to remove it on Windows.
On the other hand, it could be information we want saved forever, so if it only saves for 1 year, then we currently have to copy it in view mode, go into edit mode, then add it as a custom field, because it's not accessible from edit mode otherwise.

To remove the previous password: I found another thread where it was suggested to Duplicate the login and the new copy will not contain the previous password information. Workarounds are fun. Features are better.

That's part of your active item, @CoreyCorey. Anything you see in the item details is saved unless and until you delete the item or modify to remove it where possible. Item history only applies to things that are gone from your vault or item details. So, if you delete a custom field, you can restore that version of the item with the custom field for up to a year. In this respect, custom fields are fields like anything else.
As for editing that history, it isn't possible at the moment, as you observed, but it's definitely something we've considered. We've got you covered on what you do want to keep forever, though, and I'll certainly let our development team know you'd like to be able to get rid of some of that stuff too. :+1:
