I ran the Catalina 10.15.3 update yesterday, and since then, 1password will not start. It crashes immediately on startup, and then crashes again before the report can be sent.

    1Password Version: 7.?

Same here. App crashes immediately upon starting it. I've downloaded and reinstalled but still broken.

  • @tpalino, @rdschultz,

I've merged your question into this existing thread since it is the most likely scenario here. If you have SentinelOne installed on your computer you're going to need to have your IT department reach out to SentinelOne to get an updated version that ceases its interference with 1Password's ability to launch.

This is from SentinelOne today (i contacted their support):

    Jan 30, 2020
macOS Agent versions 3.4.4 & 3.6.1 were released, and available in your Console
These versions solve the interoperability issues that we reported earlier today, with the SentinelOne macOS Agent and other applications on Catalina 10.15.3 update.

Please upgrade your macOS Agents to one of these versions.

Before updating the operating system to version 10.15.3, make sure you upgrade the Agent to one of this version.

  • Glad to hear they've got it sorted out. :) Thanks for sharing.

Having this issue too. Tried uninstalling, installing the beta version, restarting, etc... Resorted to using 1 Password X for now...

I'll have to wait for IT to push out the updated version. Thanks for consolidating all of the information into one thread!

Just reporting back in. I checked today (not expecting anything to have changed) and 1Password is working now. The review of the running version of SentinelOne shows a version of 3.6.1. Launched 1Password and was able to configure the vault and access the application without issue. While it wasn't your problem, I appreciate @Ben taking the time to dig into this so we could get the right solution implemented.

I came to the forums with this same problem. I update to macOS 10.15.3 on a work supplied computer with SentinelOne installed, and am happy to see that a probable resolution is already available. I requested that my IT department push the updated SentinelOne client to my device, since I can't update it myself, and want to thank the 1Password/Agilebits team for taking this on when it wasn't even their problem.

This is my I'm a paying 1Password subscriber.

  • I'm glad to hear things are working better now folks. Thanks for the kind words. :)

I've been using 1pw 7 for a while now but today it is crashing when I try to launch it. I have some vague memory of it wanting to do an update sometime in the past couple of days.
The first sign of trouble was when I noticed the chrome couldn't find the extension and the icon in firefox was greyed out. Then I noticed that the icon in the menu bar at the top of my screen is missing.
I went to Applications and noticed that 1pw 7 doesn't have the proper icon. When I click on it, it crashes and generates a Mac problem report. I rebooted in Safe Mode but see the same issue.

  • @ldowens,

I've merged you into this existing topic that is most likely to be the cause of your crashes. You'll want to read this to resolve the issue.

@rudy Thanks but I do not have SentinelOne - my laptop is not managed by IT, it is my own personal laptop.

    @ldowens,

If you'd like you can send an un-truncated copy of the crash report to support+forums@agilebits.com and I can take a further look.

I have now uninstalled 1pw & reinstalled. The desktop app is now working. I then had to remove and re-add the Chrome extension as well, but it is also working now, and the firefox extension has reenabled itself. My suspicion is that a 1pw update did not get installed correctly and was corrupted.

  • Thanks for the update @ldowens. I'm glad to hear that sorted it. :)

I can confirm that updating from version 3.4.3.2922 to 3.4.4.2961 fixed for me. Had this IOKit problem with Mac App Store and 1Password.

This update can be done in Sentinel's management panel remotely without end user interaction.

  • Thank you for letting us known, @viniciussantana. Have a good weekend!

    Ben
