Able to log into vault with 4 digit Windows PIN code. What just happened?

Unfortunately the pic is in Swedish but when starting 1Password a system window poped up. It basically says "Making sure you are you". I was tired and stressed out so before I had a chance to think twice I entered my Windows PIN code. And that opened 1Password! What is this? Can anyone with my PIN code get into my 1Password vault?

Windows Hello was enabled by default, yes. If you don't want your Windows PIN to work, you can turn off Windows Hello either automatically or altogether in 1Password settings.

To be clear, this functionality was always available (if you clicked the eye or pressed enter on a blank password box), it just wasn't automatically surfaced until now.

Thanks! Pretty stupid setting/option if you ask me but now I know and have turned it off :)

    Hi @Jonas74,

plttn is right: it seems that you enabled Windows Hello in 1Password 7 on your PC. You can learn more about it here. If you don't want to use it, you can disable it in the Settings. :)

Let us know if you have other questions, we will be happy to help.

    Cheers,
    Greg
