Can't edit my secure notes.

Hello.

Few years ago I bought 1password, have been using it all the time, and around 1 year ago you pushed new version (was it 7.0?) with changed payment model - I didn't want it, didn't want new features, I was happy with what I had, and for sure didn't want to pay monthly fee (hate it + already paid 50 EUR before).

I tried not to upgrade, but somehow along the way it happened 'itself'. I could still generate, store and read passwords, so it was +/- ok. But today I found out I can't edit my secure notes if I don't jump to monthly fee model.

So the question is - how could I downgrade my version to previous one, so I could use what I paid for?

Kind Regards,
Tomek.

If you've installed 1Password 7 but haven't paid for it, but have a license for a previous version, you'd need to revert to that version to use 1Password without upgrading. That's really not something that we'd recommend. As a security focused company we'd always recommend running the latest versions of all of your software, but especially your operating system, web browser(s), and 1Password. If you opt to use to an earlier version that is your prerogative, but it isn't something we can recommend. That said, licenses never expire, and so you can continue using any version you've licensed for as long as it works for you. Using version 6 should be considered a temporary measure. As things continue to evolve around the now retired v6 it will be less and less practical to continue using it. For example, Safari 13 uses an all new extension framework, and as such will not work with v6.

If you choose to revert you'd need to:

    1. Quit Safari and any other open web browsers.

    2. Open and then quit 1Password completely. Hold down the Control and Option keys on your keyboard and choose 1Password > Quit 1Password Completely from the menu bar.

    3. In Finder, drag 1Password 7 from the Applications folder to the Trash. DO NOT use third-party app cleaners to remove 1Password (MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, AppZapper, and others). This can result in accidentally deleting all of your 1Password data.

    4. Empty the Trash.

    5. Restart the Mac.

    6. Install 1Password 6 from our website: https://1password.com/downloads/mac/#legacy-downloads

    7. Open and unlock 1Password, before opening your browser.

    I hope that helps!

    Ben
