7.7beta Safari vs 1Password X

I see that 7.7beta's Safari plugin looks and behaves exactly like 1Password X on other browsers, at least when it comes to the form fill popups - which is amazing and I'm extremely happy about this - makes me feel like I'm not missing out by using Safari over the alternatives now.

Is there anything that 1Password X does that the new browser integration doesn't do?

  • Thanks so much for the kind words, @ersan191. :)

1Password X works without having 1Password for Mac installed, which the Safari extension cannot do. That's all I can think of off-hand... :+1:

  • Is there a reason that Safari can't have the full 1Password X extension on Big Sur?

There are some cool things coming in Big Sur that may make that possible. We're still investigating that at this stage.

Or is this functionality basically making 1Password act like X when using the app?

Basically, yes, with the exception that it does require the app.
