1Password Chrome extension accepts my vault password, but 1Password desktop app does not accepts it

Hi,

I have the following installations:
1 Password app on Windows machine - 7.6.778
1 Password extension (desktop app required) Chrome - 4.7.5.90
1 Password X Manager - 1.20.0

I am able to use 1 Password X Manager using the vault password. But not able to use 1 Password app on Windows machine and 1 Password extension (desktop app required) Chrome using the same password. What am I doing wrong?

I can also login to my account on 1password.com using the same password.

Any help?

Hi @dakshgoenka,

Did you change your Master Password recently? Please confirm.

If you did, you'll need to finish changing your password in the app. Open and unlock 1Password 7 on your PC using your old Master Password, click the red authentication error banner, and sign in with your new Master Password. Could you please give it a try and let me know if it works? Thank you!

@Greg I dont remember my old password now. Will an uninstall >> reinstall work?

Hi @dakshgoenka,

Reinstalling 1Password will not work, because it doesn't remove your local database. If you do not remember your old Master Password, please start over with 1Password 7 for Windows and set it up from scratch.
