How can I stop 1Password from adding a trailing slash to a base URL?
I'm using 1Password to share information and secrets on a team of software engineers. Some shared values are notes that include base URLs, e.g., http://imaurl.com
. We noticed that 1Password is automatically appending a trailing slash to these types of URLs (e.g., e.g., http://imaurl.com/
, which has led to issues with folks copy/pasting the shared values in our system, only to have them break the locally running environment. Can we stop this unexpected behavior?

Hi @sallymoore! Welcome to the forum!
Can you please share with us the instructions to reproduce this? Thank you!

Happy to!
1) Add a secure note to 1Password.
2) Type any text string into the secure note that is formatted like a base url with no trailing slash, e.g.,http://imaurl.com
.
3) Save the note. A trailing slash is added to the url.
4) Try to edit the note to remove the trailing slash and it does not appear in the edit view.
5) On save, a trailing slash is again added back to the url.Note that more complex urls, e.g.,
http://imaurl.com/whatever
do not have this problem.0 -
Can you turn on betas on the Updates tab in Preferences and try this again with 7.7.1.BETA-7?

Turned on betas, downloaded and relaunched, and confirmed that I'm now on 7.7.1.BETA-7, but I'm still seeing the same behavior. Thanks for looking into this!

I'm having this same issue with version 7.9 this should be an easy fix. Causing a lot of issues for developers using this service on teams.

Hello everyone! 7.9.1.BETA-3 has a fix for this :)
Fixed an issue that resulted in trailing slashes being appended to URLs in markdown fields.
Please give that a try and let us know if everything looks ok now :+1:

A new beta should be out soon. Please update to beta 5 when it is available. Hopefully, the wait will not be long.
