  • and now i see that this isn't exactly what you're supposed to do.
The "Setup code" on the top right of your profile is not the qr code you scan for 2FA.
To get to the 2FA code for your authenticator,
after you are on your profile page,
    1. pick "more actions" on the left
    2. click "manage two-factor authentication
    3. click "set up app"
    4. in your authenticator app, hit "+"
    5. in your authenticator app, select "Scan QR Code"
    6. scan the code
    7. On the 1P website, enter the code for 1P from the authenticator
    8. If you have the 1P app running on your device, it will also ask for a 2FA code (?). Enter it. It may not be the same as the the one you entered on the website, if the code rolls in the meantime.
    9. on the website, hit "Done" or "close"
