touch id in mac chrome extension
Hi, I've purchased 1password a couple weeks ago and it generally works well, thanks!
I can use touch id to activate my desktop app, but I haven't figured out how to do so in my chrome extension. I've seen quite some discussion about it, but many mixed answers. It's quite cumbersome to keep typing my long master password every time i want to log in on a website in my browser...
Is it possible? If no: when will this become possible? If near future, where can I find up-to-date info about this?
1Password Version: 7.8.2
Extension Version: 2.0.0
OS Version: big sur: 11.3, chrome: 90.0.4430.212

Pleaser update to 1Password 7.8.4 and then the option should be available. Let us know if you encounter any trouble.

Saem here. Touch ID unlocking option not showing for 1Password in Browser
Chrome: 91.0.4472.77
macOS 11.4
1Password in Browser: v2.0.0
1Password for Mac: v7.8.40 -
I have this issue as well. Desktop app is 7.8.4, Firefox extension is 2.0.2, and macOS 11.4. In the App Store update notes, it says that "1Password now shares lock state with 1Password in the browser", and I was wondering if this could be the issue? I can't find in the app or the extension the option to enable lock state sharing.

@ag_tommy can't believe I hadn't thought of that. After updating chrome indeed allows me to use touch id. Thanks!

For those still having trouble, if you could please send a console log for 1Password in your browser to support+x@1password.com, then we can take a closer look.

Refreshing the connection between the desktop app and 1Password in Browser solved the issue for me.
- Right click the little 1Password icon on the top menu bar of your Mac (where the clock is) and select "Quit 1Password Completely".
- Quit Firefox by right clicking its icon in the Dock and selecting "Quit".
- Open and unlock 1Password.
- Open Firefox and see if 1Password unlocks automatically in it.

Extension got auto-updated to 2.0.1 and this problem is gone.
I tried Quit 1P Completely and browser restarting multiple times with 2.0.0. It did not address the issue.

I still have this problem in both Chrome and Brave - Touch ID prompt not popping up on my Macbook Pro (2018 with Touch ID on the touch bar). I'm using MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 (18G103); 1Password Desktop v 7.8.4 (70804004) Mac App Store version. I wouild like to use the 1Password X / 1Password in the Browser instead of the classic or tradition browser extension and have tried the new extension v2.0.1 and the various troubleshooting instructions here but is is still not working. Thanks.

Thanks @jasonhx, those steps worked for me in Chrome. I'm guessing the order matters, because I had restarted both 1Password and Chrome a few times trying to get it to work.

Hey @gsands
Did you made sure to quit 1Password and the browser completely? Here are the steps again:
- Right click the little 1Password icon on the top menu bar of your Mac (where the clock is) and select "Quit 1Password Completely".
- Quit Chrome/Brave by right clicking its icon in the Dock and selecting "Quit".
- Open and unlock 1Password.
- Open Chrome/Brave, wait a few moments and see if the extension unlocks by itself. If it did, you're good to go.
In case that didn't help, we'll want to see some logs from your computer, so send us the following:
- A diagnostics report from your Mac: https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/
- The extension's log from Chrome: https://support.1password.com/cs/extension-console-log/
- Send it to support+extensions@1password.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we investigate these files.
