Windows hello - Confused about when this is supposed to trigger

Hello folks! :)

Windows Hello and biometrics were just launched (congratulations!) but I'm a little confused as to when this is supposed to work in daily life.

The issue I'm facing
I am constantly prompted to input my Master password into 1P while I'm browsing the web. I've never had my camera turn on to "Windows Hello my face" since the launch.

A few pieces of useful info

  • Yes, Windows hello is turned ON;
  • I'm testing this on Chrome with 1P extension installed;
  • I have a Windows Hello compatible webcam (Logitech Brio 4K)

Any clues as to what may be happening here?

1Password Version: 7.7.805
Extension Version: 2.0.2
OS Version: Windows 10 PRO (build 19042)
Sync Type: Not sure?

    Hi @hiimsnowman!

    For confirmation, are you already able to unlock your Windows PC using Windows Hello?

    Yep, that's how I log in 100% of the time.

    @hiimsnowman:

    Thank you for the confirmation! Is Windows Hello also enabled inside the 1Password app?

    Use Windows Hello to unlock 1Password on your Windows PC

    I would also like you to check the Get help section of this documentation page with the most common causes when Windows Hello does not work inside 1Password.

    Also, you mentioned that Windows Hello is not working for you when you browse the web and use the extension, but is it also not working inside the 1Password desktop app?
