App Store update from 7.7 fails repeatedly

When attempting to update 1Password from 7.7 in the App Store, I'm prompted to quit the app. I do so. The update downloads. Then, the app relaunches itself and the update fails.

I have a subscription and an additional vault synced from iCloud.

What am I supposed to do here???

    Hi JacquesC

    Thank you for contacting us and I'm sorry for the trouble you've encountered with updating 1Password. It may be a case that 1Password and its processes need to be quit completely. The steps below should help with with this issue:

    1. Close all browsers.
    2. Open 1Password.
    3. Select 1Password in the menu bar at the top of the screen beside the  logo.
    4. Hold down Control + Option on your keyboard and click Quit 1Password Completely.
    5. Open the App Store and try to update 1Password again.
