BrowserVerificationFailed

I've just upgraded my system to Fedora 35 and it looks like the Chrome Extension <> Desktop App communication is borked. The extension is not unlocking with the app anymore and instead it just advises me that there's a pending Chrome update. However I'm on the latest stable version of Chrome (96.0.4664.110) with the latest version of the extension (2.1.4); I'm also up-to-date on the Desktop side of things with the latest available update (8.4.1 - '80401002, on PRODUCTION channel') from the stable rpm repo.

The extension logs themselves aren't that telling:

💫 Looking for desktop app com.1password.1password background.js:2
📤 Sending <NmRequestAccounts> message to native core <831602045> background.js:2
Received <BrowserVerificationFailed> from the native core

1Password Version: 8.4.1
Extension Version: 2.1.4
OS Version: Fedora 35

  • Hi, @dcrdev . I see that you posted this in December, which potentially was while most of us were on vacation. Are you still seeing this problem?

The latest stable version of the 1Password desktop is 8.5. Please try updating to that.

We keep a variety of logs in ~/.config/1Password/logs. I would be interested in knowing if you can see any errors in the BrowserExtension or KeyringHelper logs.
