Logins not being saved
1Password is not saving my new Login entries.
I also rebuilt my data file as part of my trouble shooting. That did not fix the problem.
What should I do?
Thanks!

Hi Brian,
Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble, but I'm sure we can sort it out. :) There shouldn't be any reason to rebuild your data file. A rebuild won't help anything with autosave.
- Can you confirm for me that the 1Password extension is installed in your browser?
- For that matter, what browser are you using? :)
Can you confirm for me that "Ask to save new logins" is enabled in Settings > Logins?
What is the URL where you are testing?
Just to be clear, 1Password will only prompt to save unique passwords once per website. If you already have a Login saved with the same password for the same website you will not be prompted to save a new Login. You should use unique passwords, but if you choose not to, you will need to manually save the second login using the
+
button in the upper right corner of the extension like this:- Visit the site's login page.
- Enter your credentials, but DO NOT submit the form.
- Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.
- Change the title and make any notes (if desired).
- Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.
I hope that helps. Please let me know the answers to the above questions and if manually saving a new Login item is working for you.

Hi Khad,
I think the 1Password extension is installed. I see that 1Password button at the top of my browser, and I am able to use it to log into existing logins that I have saved.
I am using Safari. I have a Mac.
My Settings that I have checked off are: Ask to Save Logins and Animate Filling.
Not checked off is: Automatically Submit Logins
The URL I was at is: http://order.papajohns.com/index.html This is sort of a hard example, because there is a mini pop-up window for the login.
***I have been getting the login box when logging into new sites......but after I save, I look on my 1Password, and nothing gets saved there.
Please advise. Thanks!

Ah. So the autosave bar is appearing, and you are clicking the "Save" button to confirm that you want to save the Login? It's just not appearing when you go back to visit the site later?
Try this URL for Papa John's:
- Visit that login page.
- Enter your credentials, but DO NOT submit the form.
- Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.
- Change the title and make any notes (if desired).
- Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.
Using the above technique I was able to save and fill a sample login at:
Manually saving a new Login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Saving a new Login item allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. :)
I hope that helps. Please let me know.

Thank you. It definitely helps. I have noticed that more and more websites are doing the follow-up popup, making tweaking necessary.
My biggest issue, still is that recently when I save new logins, I then look for them in 1Password....and they are not there! :-( Why is that?

I really appreciate your patience on this. I am still not sure that I understand the issue clearly.
- The autosave bar is appearing?
- When you save a Login item it shows up in the extension popup?
- It just doesn't show up in the main 1Password application?
- Do you see a red badge on the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar?
The more details you can provide about what the problem is (and is not) the more quickly I'm sure we can get it resolved. Thanks so much!
