My wife's MAC is running 1Password 7.8.7. My MAC is on 7.9.3 (BETA). My wife's 1Password keeps getting the error listed in the title of this thread whenever she runs update or checks for updates. Obviously, if she's still on 7.8.7. she's not getting updated (she does not get BETA releases). Her 1Password is otherwise working as are all other apps and network connections. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Oh, BTW... My MAC and my 1Password are up to date, running on the same WiFi network and I have not problems getting 1Password updates.

  • Hi @erik43 👋,

Let's reinstall the 1Password for Mac app on your wife's Mac to see if that helps resolve the issue. Here are the steps:

    1. Quit all open web browsers.
    2. Open the main 1Password app. Choose 1Password > Quit 1Password Completely from the menu bar.
    3. Drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash. Do not use an "app cleaner" or "uninstaller" tool to remove the app or additional files. If prompted, enter the password you use to sign in to your Mac.
    4. Restart your Mac.
    5. Download the latest version of 1Password from the 1Password website
    6. Quit any open web browsers and then install 1Password.
    7. Open and unlock 1Password before opening your web browser.

Let me know if that helps or if you have any questions. 🙂
