1Password is unavailable in Belarus AppStore anymore

Hello Team,
My name is Sergey and I'm from Belarus.

I was looking for a great tool to manage my family's passwords. After thorough exploration I settled down on 1Password. Several friends and colleagues of mine (who have been using 1Password in Belarus for a long time) underpinned my decision. So I tried to setup it on all my devices but I was surprised to find that at the moment there is no way to download/update a 1Password app from the AppStore for Belarus. Attempt to open a link to the AppStore from the official Web-site leads to the following error:

"App Not Available. This app is currently not available in your country or region."

I'd like to clarify whether it is done intentionally and what the reason for that is? Is 1Password Team going to support new/existing clients from Belarus?

Best regards,
Thanks.

Looks like 1Password has become unavailable silently in both AppStore / GooglePlay for Belarus and Russia.
Thread1: IOS app not available in Russia no more? https://1password.community/discussion/127818/ios-app-not-available-in-russia-no-more
    Thread2 on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/1Password/comments/tdxzol/1password_for_ios_is_no_longer_available_in/

It is really weird, concerning and frustrating to find that there is no official statement on that. It is a really dangerous precedent and alarming signal that undermines the credibility of the 1Password company that is expected to store your most important data.

I agree, such companies to which users entrusted their most valuable data should be neutral and not take all ordinary people hostage. Some VPN services did the same thing, for many people it was unexpected and not only for Russian citizens, but just for the community and such companies quickly began to lose trust, but not all, there are those who are neutral and the most interesting is that these companies have offices in the USA and did not harm their users, they understand that users need these services more than ever. It's a shame that 1 Password made this decision. Will have to consider other password storage apps I think. Maybe 1Pass management will reconsider? Ordinary users have nothing to do with it, why show hypocrisy about how much we love our users so much and then in a difficult time, snub everyone. Pure hypocrisy.

    I am from the USA.

This is jaw-dropping, unbelievable and absolutely infuriatingly a bad decision. AgileBits needs to reverse this decision right now.

Wow, I'm sure Putin is so worried about his 1password subscription that he'll stop the war over it. Joke.
I am sure that at least 99% of 1p users in Russia are against the war, did not vote for Putin and are thinking about how to leave here. And you take away their ability to store their sensitive data outside the country, very clever. I won't even talk about the license agreement and so on.
You are hypocrites. You, along with other inadequate companies, are doing everything to make ordinary Russian people think that the whole world is really against them, and this only increases the number of those who support all this madness.
    Well done.

AgileBits deleted my thread and moved it to another Russia thread, then proceeded to lock the main post to prevent discussion.

It seems this company is taking on the same authoritarian approach as Putin is. Any other company and I honestly wouldn't care but this app is different. It houses the most personal, most important data that one can have. The trust in this kind of relationship is sacred and I need to trust that my data will be there for me as long as the company is in operation.

What is going on here in AgileBits. Se. technical support specialist u/agben said in Reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/1Password/comments/tdxzol/1password_for_ios_is_no_longer_available_in/i0x5e5l/ )

Removing the app is impacting existing customers and so we have reversed the changes impacting the App Store and Google Play store. We have restored access to the 1Password apps through these distribution channels.

But based on this blog post https://blog.1password.com/responding-to-the-conflict-in-ukraine/ you should not ve able to create new account if you are from Belarus or Russia.

All this does not make much sense, because. still unable to renew the subscription. None of the sanctions are aimed at the civilian population of Russia. 1p banned the Russians from paying for a subscription due to Russophobia, which is not much different from the reason for the start of all this horror.

    Hi folks,

A public statement is now available here:

Responding to the conflict in Ukraine

I apologize for the delay, but this is a rapidly developing situation, and so we had to take the time to make sure we were on the right track. As mentioned in our statement, if anyone needs to discuss their individual situation, please email us: support@1password.com.

    Jack
