One-time password timer doesn't display when window loses focus - intentional?

On the Windows app the timer in the one-time password window disappears when the window loses focus. Is this intentional? I prefer it always visible, so making that an option would be preferable. Started with version 8.6.0

    Hi @natedoc !

This was changed in one of the last beta builds to improve performance of the 1Password Windows app. 🙂

  • Hi @natedoc - @DenalB is right, this was done to improve CPU usage and battery life. Here's a post from a recent Beta release with more:

thank you for asking, and for the keen eye on 1Password's particulars! We can certainly discuss making this an option as well.

Just came across this and would love to see this as an option. It would be great to at least have it show if you open a login item as a separate window from the quick access menu.

  • Hi @ForbQuiet, thanks for your feedback here!

This timer is available when a login is opened in a new window, however as noted above, you will see the same behaviour where timer disappears once the window loses focus. I can understand where having this as an option could be beneficial. I can't make any promises but happy to pass your feedback along to the team for consideration.

    Have a great day!

Noted for the performance improvement, but I personally prefer having the countdown. Or hiding the OTP on the inactive window if it's expired.

  • Hey @Goldfinger, thanks for your feedback. I'll add your comment to the feature request to further highlight user interest. Thanks!
