1Password for Safari 2.3.1 simply does not work often

Sometimes the Safari extension simply doesn't work.

I'll go to log in to a website, click in the username or password fields and the little 1Password logo appears in the right. No dropdown with matches. I click on the 1PW logo in the input field and nothing happens. No amount of clicking, double-clicking, focussing and un-focussing the fields or reloading the page makes the dropdown menu appear.

I go up to the 1PW icon in the Safari toolbar and click that. After a second or two of blank window, the window draws with the suggestions for the site and I'm able to Autofill from there. Even after that though, the inline menu refuses to show up.

Quitting the browser completely and reloading seems to be the only solution. It'll then work for a while until it stops.

The "Show autofill menu on field focus" option in the extension Settings is enabled. I've also tried toggling it off and on, to no avail.

Any ideas?

Same problem here - including on the 1password log in page - so please no excuses that I have received in the past that it is due to unique "pop up" login used by some websites. :-(

I am using Safari on the Mac - version 15.3 - but have been battling this problem for over 2 years.

Hi @snozdop and @azredhd22. It is weird that the inline menu doesn't work as expected on your machines. Could you each share a screen recording of the behavior?

As a note, there's not a way to attach a screen recording to your reply. However, you can link to it, or you can email the screenshot to us at support+forum@1Password.com.

    With your email please include:

Since posting above on the 10th I've turned off both of the Auto-lock options in the main 1Password app, and it seems a lot better. Thinking about it, it did seem to get stuck after a certain period of non-use, so maybe when the Auto-locking triggered it was preventing the inline menu from appearing, and stopping the prompt to re-unlock.

I'll try turning the Auto-lock options on again, and monitor it for a while and report back.
