What is the advantage, if any, of using Quick Access (Shift-Command-Space) vs the Mini (Shift-Command-X)?

where can you find Shift-Command-X it doesnt exist and doesn twork anywhere.

Shift-Command-X works for me fine in Safari and Chrome, although not in Firefox.

The dialogue it brings up may not be the Mini though, but I prefer it to Quick Access.

It was mentioned by @Ben here:

  • Hi @DavidB:

Great question! Shift+Command+X opens the 1Password pop-up in your browser. This is operating solely within the context of your browser. Quick Access has the ability to quickly copy item fields using just your keyboard, and can also trigger Universal Autofill into any app, not just your browser.

Thank you for the explanation. Is this explained elsewhere? Somehow I seem to have missed learning about the basics of 1Password 8.

    P.S. I have been a user of 1Password since 2007.

  • Hey @DavidB, we put together a page showing a lot of what's new with 1Password 8 here. Here is also a support article specifically around Quick Access. Hope that helps!

Thanks @danvpeterson. I had read the "What's new" page a while ago but didn't see much how-to or other explanatory information on it.

The support article you cite, though, which I found earlier today, was more useful for me.

  • Glad to hear it! And also thanks for sticking with 1Password for so long, you started using it the same year I joined the company :)
