Why conflicts at all?

in 1Password 3 – 7 for Mac

So I get conflicts when there are changes to entries in the 1password database on my devices when offline (I think), and then have to use the help>tools>FindAndResolveSyncConflicts. My questions is, why not just automatically accept the entry that has the latest time/date stamp? Why isn't this automatic? Can I make it automatically accept the version with the LATEST changes?

    Improvements have already been made in this regard in 1Password 4 which is only on iOS so far but is coming to the Mac soon. :)
