Choose order of authentication options

I use 1P8 for macOS. I use the main app, the Safari browser extension, the op CLI tool v2, and the SSH functionality. I get asked to authenticate a lot.

I have my password, I have the modal button that says "authorize access", I have an Apple Watch, and I have a Touch ID-enabled Mac keyboard. I also have a YubiKey configured for PAM, but I don't think 1Password uses/recognizes that.

My preference is for least friction by default, which means:

  1. Touch ID
  2. “Authorize Access” modal button
  3. Apple Watch
  4. Manually typing my password like a neanderthal

The 1Password suite of tools doesn't appear to share my order preference. It tends to put my Apple Watch first (Touch ID is grayed-out in the preferences). When that fails (see this post), I take it off my wrist and get the click-button prompt instead (more convenient).

It's rare when I have to type my password manually, but my daughter (for example) has a Windows laptop and that's the norm for her.

This is a request to choose my preferred order of authentication devices/approaches, when each one is available.
