can I print the contents of a vault?
I have 5 vaults, 4 of which are for "retired" accounts/passwords which I keep for historical reasons. But I'd like to simplify my 1Password vaults by just printing off these old retired vaults, leaving only my active vault. But I can find no print function in v.8. Any help appreciated.

Hi @bhoward21,
Great question! Printing the contents of a 1Password vault is not an available feature in 1Password 8. We've always strongly recommended against printing out your passwords, as it's not a secure way to store them.
If you're not using 4 out of your 5 vaults on a regular basis, this would be a great opportunity to leverage the new collections feature in 1Password 8. With collections, you could create a collection for your one active vault, and then while using it, you will only see that vault in your sidebar.
Let me know if that helps with your workflow.

Are there plans to allow export and/or print of contents of a single vault? This is needed. While I accept you do not recommend it, you can always put big warning labels on this when someone tries. I'm trying to close down a vault holding stuff for a deceased family member. I want to put this information into the estate file.
Important to do this.

Hi @rmschne,
Thanks for your feedback about this! While I don't have any updates to share presently, estate planning is certainly on our radar. I can see how it's one example where the flexibility to export certain vaults instead of entire accounts might be useful, and have filed a proxy vote on your behalf for our existing feature request.
I appreciate you sharing your use case, and wish you and your family well. 🙂

Re "might be useful" ... "is useful" (and in today's world, essential ... recall I used to be able to do that in 1Password or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly ... make it happen anyway, regardless of my recollection, please.

I hear you and I can confirm that Andrew has shared your feedback with our product team. This is an area that we're actively working on behind the scenes. And, while I can't make any promises, I've also added your requests for both a selective export and printing feature to the tracking items for those feature requests so that our product team is aware. 🙂

Printing a specific vault certainly IS a valuable feature.
At my company we have used this for our disaster recovery plans for a long time, printing out specific vaults and placing the printouts in a safety deposit.
This was possible as late as march 2022, where we did this last time.
Now the feature has been removed (in 1P8?), and I have no way of making a non-electronic backup of our company vaults without including my personal vault.
Also the actual printouts, that used to be possible, included comments etc. that may be needed in some cases. The CSV export does not, and the 1PUX format is not human readable, and will not work if 1password for some reason is offline some day.
This is very frustrating.
Please bring back the Print Vault option.
Yes I know it is insecure if the print is not treated right, but the same can be said about the cvs export.0 -
Thank you for the feedback. I've added it to the feature requests that we have open both for exporting a specific vault and for printing items using 1Password 8.
Our team would be interested in learning more about how 1Password can meet your business disaster recovery needs. I'd encourage you to reach out to your account manager or our business team at business@1password.com to discuss this in more detail. 🙂

Here's a reason for having print capability in 1Password 8. It's my data, I should be able to print my vault(s) and accept the risk. Not your decision....

Jeez, I can't believe this is not possible. I really need to be able to do it.
