Everything disappeared! Briefly, but total panic. WHY?
Opened 1Password to add login manually, clicked on plus button, and all content disappeared. Everywhere in 1PW. Freaked. Went to library and looked at app support file, all seemed to be in order. Held my breath, closed 1PW, opened again and everything was back. Not normal behavior, thought you should know. Yes I have multiple system backups! 1PW resides only on my iMac, no syncing with anything. Yet. Lion, 1PW current.

It seems to be a cache issue, if you were still experiencing it you could follow the steps in this knowledge base issue. http://support.agilebits.com/kb/troubleshooting/1password-appears-empty
But seeing as your up and running, you should be good to go.
It has also happened to me on occasion before and as you said closing the app and reopening it always fixed the issue in my case.
