Is there a Downside to Changing 1Password Master Password?

The reason that I ask is I'm taking my Macbook Pro 15" Middle 2012, OS X ver. 10.8.4, in to the Genius Bar for a repair. In reading the literature about 1Password Master Password on your webpage, it is recommended not changing the Master Password once assign. My issue is I assigned a password to my Macbook Pro firmware, an added level of protection in the event my Macbook is stolen. I made the firmware password and 1Password Master password the same. My concern is I may have reveal the password to the firmware to the technician. I didn't consider this possibility when I chose to make both passwords the same. Thanks

One of the circumstances under which we recommend changing your master password is if it has been used elsewhere. It should not be used for anything. We would recommend a change in that case.
